About

Ok, a little bit about me:

I graduated from Trent University in 2006 with a degree in Anthropology and Psychology. I was on my way to becoming a teacher like my mom. After a lot of soul searching (and the crushing realization that teaching jobs in Peterborough were very difficult to come by), I decided to go back to school and become an Architectural Technologist. As luck would have it, I found my passion and am grateful that everyone else seemed to want to be a teacher!

After two years of the Architecture program at Loyalist, I worked at a steel detailing firm in Trenton as a junior draftsman. While I did learn a lot, I mostly learned that my enthusiasm did not lie in detailing bolts and plates for bridges and hospitals. My husband and I decided to move back to Peterborough where I was incredibly lucky to get a job working for J. L. Young Design & Drafting under Laurie Young.

Working for Laurie has taught me an incredible amount about the Architectural Design field. In the past 8 years, I have been able to hone my code research skills, work on some really fantastic projects and learn how to become more creative with design and space planning. I also got to bring my dog to work, so that was pretty cool too.

I love working with clients to bring their dreams into reality. Whether it’s an addition to an existing house, a renovation of their living space or starting from scratch and designing their dream house, I am lucky enough to say I love my job.

When I’m not working, I get to spend time with my wonderful husband, Greg, our ridiculously adorable son, Sebastian, and our lazy, but lovable dog Penny Lane.
